Portfolio Management Introduction: Portfolio management is a conglomeration of securities as whole, rather than unrelated individual holdings. Portfolio management stresses the selection of securities for inclusion in the portfolio based on that security’s contribution to the portfolio as a whole. This purposes that there some synergy or some interaction among the securities results in the total portfolio effect being something more than the sum of its parts. When the securities are combined in a portfolio, the return on the portfolio will be an average of the returns of the securities in the portfolio. For example, if a portfolio was comprised on equal positions in two securities, whose returns are 15% and 20%, the return on the portfolio, will the average of the returns of the two securities in the portfolio, or 17.5%. From this we will discuss the process of creating a diversified portfolio. The diversified portfolio is a theory of investing that reduces the risk of losing all your money when â€Å"al l your eggs† are not in one basket. Diversification limits your risk an over the long run, can improve your total returns. This is achieved by putting assets in several categories of investments. Portfolio Process: The portfolio process is as follows: 1. Designing an investment objective; 2. Developing and implementing an asset mix; 3. Monitoring the economy and the markets; 4. Adjusting the portfolio and measuring the performance Due to the intensity of each of the four items, we will be covering only the first two. 1. Investment Objective: This topic is broad and contains three major divisions. They are foundation objectives, constraints and major objectives. Foundation Objectives: These objectives generally receive the most attention from investors and are determined by thorough determination of your needs, preferences and resources. ï‚ · Return – you need to determine whether you prefer a strategy of return maximization, where assets are invested to make the greatest return possible while staying within the risk tolerance level, or whether a required minimum return with certainty is preferable, generating only as much return with emphasis on risk reduction. ï‚ · Risk – There are many ways to assess the risk tolerance of any particular investor, from the least knowledgeable of investments to the very sophisticated investor. Both of these types of risk can be avoided when you correctly evaluate your risk guidelines and determine the maximum amount of risk that you are willing to handle. Conclusion: Once your portfolio has been established then next step in the management is to evaluate your portfolio’s performance. The success of your portfolio is determined by comparing the total rate of return of the portfolio to the average total return of comparable portfolios. It is essential to develop a system to monitor the appropriateness of the securities that comprise the portfolio and the strategies governing it. Currently, there are a number of mobile commerce applications that can be used by consumers with suitable handsets. For example, now customers in some countries like Japan and UK shop via their mobile handsets exactly similar to shopping in malls. The applications include mobile banking (financial services), advertising, product location and shopping, auction and reverse auction, and entertainment, to name a few (Varshney and Vetter, 2001). Table 1 shows summary of mobile e-commerce that is now available in market. The table also explains the relevant questions for each mobile commerce applications. Among twelve issues in mobile commerce, this paper only considers three of them; they are security issues of mobile commerce, development of complex application in limited speed of mobile processor, and human-handhelds interface through the development of attractive graphical user interface in mobile devices (Tarasewich, Nickerson, and Warkentin, Merrill, 2002). Amidst the increasing number of consumers that shop online via mobile devices, there is a potential threat that could prevent the fast adoption of mobile commerce; the threat is security. It is known that electronic commerce including e-commerce is potential to malware that contains viruses, adwares, or hijackers that collect our credit card information and sending it into a remote host for further criminal actions. In order to eliminate this threat, mobile application developers provide high-level threat into personal and corporation confidential information such as password and personal identification number (PIN). Since computer technology has gone mobile, the applications and computer program also follow. Therefore, it is also common to find many applications that tailored to work on mobile devices such as wireless e-mail and Microsoft Office for mobile handsets. However, mobile devices have some drawbacks such as limited bandwidth allocation that restricts the use of several mobile applications such as video conferencing over the phone, high-speed internet, bus on demand and may others. In addition, mobile handhelds are also limited in processor speeds in which highest processor speed for typical PDAs is about 400 MHz while desktop computers have achieved more than 2 GHz. Some researchers say that positive thinking of cancer patient may cause the problem rather than the positive progress. It is like forcing a patient to think positively and not expressing aggressiveness or stress and whatever is felt negatively. And the time of imprisonment is 25 years. She told about how hard it was for her to see everything and how she felt about that. She cried for two days and was very weak, and then she felt down from the stairs but not high ones and injured her leg. For me it isn’t Just the accident of falling down caused the tumor in her limb. Another case is with the woman having a cancer and receiving chemo, but talking about her allowances, and large amount of money she borrowed and that she must find from somewhere, but not having an idea from where. Also, her in-laws and husband are asking her to leave them, and cursing her for that. Next example is about a man who is 32 years old and divorced from his wife, has a son. This man was diagnosed as lung cancer. His sister came to me to consult about how to tell him his diagnosis. This man was grieving over his mother’s death and living alone, and very often talking about committing a suicide. This case is even harder, telling him his diagnosis may cause him harm by himself. The fear of the Lord, according to the Bible, is a heartfelt reverence for the majesty of God and a loving awe of the grace of God. One who fears God has great thoughts about Him and knows Him and puts his trust in Him. One who fears God, first of all, knows God in all of the infinite splendor of Gods being and the God who says, I AM THAT I AM. Throughout the Scriptures, whenever we see a human encountering God, we see that this encounter always contains an element of fear. . Throughout the Bible we also see people who do not fear God and where this is, the Wrath of God takes place. We see the Wrath of God take place in Genesis 3, where He casts Adam and Eve out of Eden because of their sin. In Genesis 6 God destroys the world with the Flood because of their sin. In the Book of Exodus, He sends plagues upon Egypt. God also refuses to let the Israelites enter into the Promised Land because of their disobedience and forces them to wander in the wilderness for forty years. This Divine Wrath continues throughout the whole Bible and into the New Testament. Since God is angry, and since God has the power to cast us into hell, it is certainly only right to fear the Lord. And since the people didnt want these things to happen to them they feared God. There are many examples in Exodus and Dueteronomy where people feared God. In one instance the king of Egypt told the Hebrew midwives to kill the Hebrew womens child if it was a boy, but if it was a girl they were to let her live. The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. (Exodus 1:17) When people fear him and do as God tells them, the Lord blesses them immensely. So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. (Exodus 1:20-21) Also in Exodus 9, the Lord told Moses to tell the people He was sending another plague of the worst hailstorms. He told the people to bring their livestock in and everything else into their shelter. He told them if they didnt do this their livestock would surely die. Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the LORD hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside. But those who ignored the word of the LORD left their slaves and livestock in the field. (Exodus 9:20) Afterwards the ones who feared God got to keep their livestock and the ones who didnt lost them. The Israelites also feared the Lord when the Lord saved them from the Egyptians at the Red Sea in Exodus 14:31. They feared Him so much that they put their trust in Him and in His servant Moses. Moses also feared the anger and the wrath of God. (Duet. 9:19) He feared Him so much that he went up on the mountain and prayed and fasted for forty days and forty nights because of all the sin the Israelites had committed. He knew the Lord was so angry with all of them and he feared God for what He would do to them..
